Airfix F-2A1 Buffalo of US Navy

By Francis Lee

Model: Airfix 1/72 scale F-2A1 Buffalo

I bought this kit in around 1987, luckily the decals are still able to use, the kit does not come with a box but just a clear plastic bag to store everything inside. It was the first & the last time I saw this kind of packing of Airfix model. As usual I need to fill up some gaps all around but it still fun to build up such an old kit after all.

Type 1 Hayabusa at Kumagaya Flying School 1945.

by Francis Lee

1/72 Hasegawa Scale Model

These Hayabusa (Oscar) and Isuzu fuel truck are classic kits of Hasegawa. I bought them while I was at high school and I build them recently.

The diorama setting was base on the decals data I got that flying schools planes turn to become Japan Mainland Air Defence Force to intercept B-29 in 1944-45. This Kumagaya Flying School is located in Saitama prefecture which is just behind Tokyo, so it is good place to set up flying team to shoot down US bombers that came to bomb Tokyo area.

P-51D Mustang, Burma 1945.

By Francis Lee

1/48 Otaki / Arii Scale Model

This is the second plane I select to repaint, I built it 3 years ago and last week I mainly did the overall weathering, I masked the surfaces into small areas and applied darker/ lighter weathering. I found silver paint is easy to get dull (especally acrylic paint) , so I took these photos right the way.
