Airfix Bf-109F Afrika Korps

By Francis Lee

Model
Airfix 1/48

It is a very old tooling of Airfix of this Bf-109F, the overall shape is
nice however there are big gaps between the main wings and the body,
which needs alot of filling.

Diorama
I found some pic of airfields of Afrika Korps which ground attacks by the RAF made sandbags revetments a necessity of life in the desert. So I did the same for my diorama.

Me-109F "Black 7"

by Dusan Lekic

Here is my latest build - Me-109F "Black 7" in 1/48th scale by Zvezda.

It is straight from the box with only added seatbelts from Eduard. The model has been painted with Gunze colors.
The markings are from the Eagle Strike "Barbarossa 3", aircraft known to have been flown by

Oblt. Helmut Meckel 2/JG3 (25 air victories).

I found some real interesting pictures about this aircraft and non standard camuflage in this great book "Jagdwaffe

Vol.3/Sec.2 Barbarosa The invasion of Russia Jun-Dec1941" .

Erich Hartmann's "White 2"

by Dusan Lekic

When Erich Hartmann went to Germany on convalescent leave, his "white 2" was flown by Uffz. Herbert Meissler. On 28th of May (1943) his aircraft was damaged by LaGG-3 and he was obliged to make a forced landing in enemy territory and was captured.

Later, the aircraft was filmed for propaganda purposes by Soviets...

This is my model of Me-109G4/R6 in 1/72 scale by Fine Molds, painted with gunze colors, OOB, extratech seatbelts and some extra detail in cockpit.
