E-50 Trumpeter 1/35

by Aaron Weidenkeller

This is a E-50 from Trumpeter. The quality of this kit was suberb. I can recommend this kit.

The E-50 ( Panzerkampfwagen E-50) was a german tankproject from the second world war.
The E series should replace the tanks who was build so far.
This tank should be weigh about 50 tonnes and equipped with the 88mm KwK 43 L/71.
He should be powered with a Maybach HL 234. Top speed would be 50km/h.

"Battle of Mylae" 260 B.C. in 1/72 scale

by Michael Rieß

I have depicted a fight between a Carthaginian and a Roman trireme at the Battle of Mylae in 260 BC, in this diorama. Roman soldiers are storming across their boarding bridge (lat. corvus, engl. raven) for a direct assault on the enemy ship. The Battle of Mylae took place in the First Punic War, it ended with a Roman victory.

I used two Trireme kits and several packages of figures from Zvezda for this big project.

The first video is about the construction of the ships and the planning of the diorama. I show you all the different kits and figures I used in the build. I also share some of my knowledge of the ships and their use, in a historic context.

In the second video I give you a close up of the figures.

The third video is about the construction of the diorama. I don't have a lot of experience with water effects and I'm not completely satisfied with the result but I learn by trying and this was a fun project.

Panzer Lehr Division for Flames of War

by Kasper Fischer

My first infantry platoon. All painted and ready for battle. I made the bases so they look like the unit is on the march, down a small road in Normandie. This will serve to recognize units on a large battlefield and being able to tell them apart.

I finally got some decent pictures of my first platoon for my Flames of War army. It's really difficult to take good pictures of these small 15mm models. Due to the models available, I have decided to build a German panzer company. I was looking through the official FoW books to find a good list. I don't want to play any SS units but I still wanted a strong army list, with the best equipment and stumbled over the Panzer Lehr Division.  These guys where the cream-of-the-crop in the German Wehrmacht. Lehr means 'learning' and they were the ones to train the rest of the German army at the panzer school. Late in the war, they were returned to active duty and fought in the Battle of Normandie. The Division was almost destroyed in the allied bombing of the Falaise pocket. They never returned to the school and kept fighting through-out the rest of the war.

All the models are from Plastic Soldier Company and are in 1/100 scale.

Command MG team.

1st. MG squad.

2nd. MG squad.

3rd. MG squad.

I also took some new pictures of my first panzer platoon. I know I already have posted pictures of them but I'm prefer these instead so I thought I'd post them anyway. Hope you guys enjoy.

German Stormtrooper, 1916.

By Michael Rieß

I was in the mood to paint another bust, this time a German soldier on the Western Front in 1916.
The bust has a very special look, which is rather shocking than nice, and i tried to keep that look of a desperate soldier. You can see the pain in his face, he knows he is already a dead man.
Painting this bust really made me thinking and i hope i can share my feelings with you through the video down below.

I painted the bust with acrylic paints from Revell, for the shading i used oil paints. Some MIG pigments were used for weathering.
The base is selfmade.

Airfix F-2A1 Buffalo of US Navy

By Francis Lee

Model: Airfix 1/72 scale F-2A1 Buffalo

I bought this kit in around 1987, luckily the decals are still able to use, the kit does not come with a box but just a clear plastic bag to store everything inside. It was the first & the last time I saw this kind of packing of Airfix model. As usual I need to fill up some gaps all around but it still fun to build up such an old kit after all.
